The internet is another research tool available to students. However, they need to learn how to find and evaluate information online. Internet scavenger hunts are a fun way to learn about online research. A computer hunt can have a theme or contain random questions. Examples of both are included in this article.
This lesson plan is appropriate for students who can read. Teachers can put students in groups of 2 or 3, ensuring that the non-readers are in a group with strong readers. The scavenger hunt can be done in a manner that suits the classroom and computer availability. It is fun to give the students 20 minutes to get as much done as possible. The remainder of the class is spent discussing the answers and sources of information.
